On January 27th, Bologna Art Fair will begin. This event, celebrating its 41st edition, is a national and international benchmark in the Italian Contemporary and Modern Art. The Art Fair was created in 1974 and hosts remarkable artistic talents in its pavilions. It is considered the one fair that best represents the Italian artistic profile abroad.
The premise hosting the Art Fair, included in the Bologna Fiere trade shows, is a physical and virtual area where purchasers, artists and curators will have the chance meet and exchange points of view until January 30th. Fair Art, a constant in the Italian Artistic landscape, proposes new elements in the 2017 edition. It is divided into Main Section, Solo Show, Nueva Vista, Special Projects. This renewed edition will be led by Angela Vettese, 1959, who has been the artistic director since 2016 and Art and Philosophy historian in Italy.
Special attention will be paid to the photographic section which aims at communicating Art with new modern language facets. Inside the two pavilions, we cannot forget the new talents whose work will be displayed in the Nueva Vista section curated by Simone Frangi, curator and prominent artistic researcher.
We must also mention the renewed graphic layout thanks to Andrea Lancellotti from the homonymous Milan studio who chose to place emphasis on nature and its harmonious and contrasting expressions.
Furthermore, you can’t miss the Bookshop Printville curated by A+Mbookstore, a space where books are the master, besides in the immediate area called Talk, you can attend interesting discussions. Another section is Special Projects curated by Chiara Vecchiarelli, already acclaimed in the International art scene, which will focus on the merging of Art and Science, present and past through conferences, visits or artist lectures held in the premises of the fair or in Bologna. As for the awards of the Fair, there are Euromobil under 30, Foundation Videoinsight and Rotary Valle del Samoggia.
There are more than 153 exhibitors in Viale della Fiera in Bologna to display and sell their works. To whom wishes to visit Bologna on the occasion of the Art Fair, we remind you that on January 27th,28th and 29th there will be an event called Art City, at its fifth edition, that will consist of specific Art events achieved thanks to the sponsorship of the Municipality of Bologna and the cooperation of Bologna Fiere and the coordination of the Bologna Musci Institute. We would like to report the Art City White Night on January 28th, when all shops will be open until 12.00 am. It is an exhibition but also sale, exchange and sharing. This is what Fair Art in Bologna is providing to its visitors who can only appreciate the initiatives.
