Born in 1974, Jack Gallo was born under the name of Giancarlo Ciordo in Crotone, Italy. He is an adopted Bolognese, craving for the stage very soon. Playing a character became a fitful need, as well as give voice to scripts and ideas, reinterpret behind suit and make up. And then? Audience applauding, curtain down, and back to life. All this to take a breath, reflect, and come back actor later on again.
He has travelled between Bologna and Rome, and had a first experience as a background actor in the music video “Come mai” by 883 Italian band: it was the 1993. Being curious for the showbiz needs studies and hard work. For that, he attended the drama school of the Bibiena Theatre in Bologna for two intense years, where he had the opportunity to play in short films, and at the same time participating in the workshop “Disordine al cofine” (Disorder At The Border), owned by Oscar de Summa, and following courses of expressive reading. Every experience is knowledge that forms persons, and then life gives us the chance to make the best use of it. Gallo did not stop keeping going: in 2008 had a workshop with Anna D’Abbraccio. Still studying, still working.
Jack Gallo had the chance to play in commercials aired on Italian Sky channels, and in 2011 he started off in cinema’s industry: AMERIQUA, 2011, and that same year he co-starred in DeMentis Torrent. The train is the right one: before the actor from Crotone, a path to be walked at fast pace, with no hesitation, just determination and starving desire to be there. 2012: in the episode Pestilence, in the The Pyramid movie by Roberto Albanese, Gallo is the main character. Same year, more rewards: he is in short film “Di Riflesso”, directed by Orfeo Orlando, participant at the Short Film Corner contest at the Cannes Festival. He keeps going playing on short films “La Crisi” and “5.35”, directed by Fabrizio Loche. He gets back the following year in Cannes, starring in “The Fall of Marciano Family”.
Jack Gallo has no limits, and gets hired for the Italian fiction by RAI: first in “Nero”, in 2014, then in “Amore Criminale”, acting as a police detective.
Only short films and movies? Not at all, our actor wants to be multitasking in front of the camera. To his credit in fact there are music videos participations, such as “I’ve got it” by Bre feat. Mickey Jaga and Dome Damato, “Revoluce” by Lilith and the Sinnersaints, and “Senza Paracadute” by Valentina Mattarozzi.
Jack Gallo’s versatility is his distinctive feature. His dedication and stubbornness leads him to give all of himself in his work. Fortunately the results didn’t come late.
Gallo just doens’t plays roles and lives as an actor: once taken off acting clothes, he plays judo at a competitive level, as well as horse riding. He spends his free time watching Al Pacino’s movie and the most famous Italian actor the unforgettable Alberto Sordi.
His secret for success? Credits of his character and determination, by following his mantra: “An actor is a person who never stops studying and to get involved, who looks in the mirror always trying to improve himself.”
