February the 8th will be the opening day for the Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair 2017. The fair, commonly known as Rotterdam Contemporary or with its acronym RCARTFAIR, will last until February 12th and many Art and fashion world personalities will host at this event.
Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair, in its sixth edition, will be held at the Rotterdam World Trade Center representing a pivotal event among many housed in the Netherlands such as Art Rotterdam Fair. There will be more than 90 stands at Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair thanks to a larger premise, World Trade Center-previously the event was held at the Cruise Terminal, Kop van Zuid-.
The current premise provides bigger spaces for contemporary art galleries. This fair was created by Rotterdam Foundation, a no-profit organization which aims at promoting Rotterdam artistically. With this aim in mind, in the premise there will be exhibitions and sales of art works favoring contacts among companies, institutions and private individuals.
The event is supported also by the municipality, Rotterdam Festival, Centre for Visual Arts and last but not least, local museums. During the Rotterdam Art week, the exhibits will both different and interesting. Among the services provided there are free guided tours, workshops, meetings, music events and show. Critics, sellers, purchasers, collectors and historians will certainly find a perfect platform to exchange works and ideas. There are five design spaces with different materials which will amaze visitors.
It is worth remembering the RC Art Award, awarded to the best presentation stand. The award ceremony will take place after the official opening and the Director of the Museum of Rotterdam will present the award. The winner will receive € 5000,00, the opportunity of accessing next Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair edition in February 2018, not to mention a one-page review on Tableau Magazine which contributes enormously in the event.
The jury consists of 4 members: Anton Hoeksema, coordinator of Arts office in Tent; Hugo Bongers, former chief of Rotterdam Council for Cultural Heritage and Activites and ex consultant of the Mondriaan Fund; Hans Walgenbach, owner of Walgenbach Art & Books who is passionate about books and photography. Once again, Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair is an event worth visiting to experience innovation full of art.
